Peiyi Nguee - Centre Director
Salman Shoaib - Executive Director
Salman believes that everyone can be good at maths, much in the same way that all of us can speak at least one language really well. Having studied and taught maths at university level, he realised quite early that there are proven tools, techniques and methods that make the subject easier and more fun - the key is to teach in a way the student understands and thrives, using the right materials. That's why he became interested in Mathnasium's approach, with a rigorous focus on assessment, customised learning programs and making mathematics more fun and intuitive.
He holds a BA degree from Brown University (magna cum laude) and an MPhil degree from the University of Cambridge. He has lived in Singapore for the past 10 years with children who have attended United World College (Dover Campus). His son will be joining Yale University, USA this August majoring in Mathematics, and he has a daughter who is also at Yale majoring in English Literature.
Shafik graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor’s Degree. He always strives to do his best and hopes to inspire the same drive and motivation in his students. During his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, and also enjoys playing sports. He believes that having a strong support at home as well as keeping healthy creates greater motivation to do well in work and school.
